President of the World Association of Medical Editors. Treasurer and Trustee of the Pacific Pathology Training Centre, a WHO Collaborating Centre for External Quality Assurance in Pacific Health Laboratories. Editor of the New Zealand Journal of Medical Laboratory since 1994, Associate Editor of BMC Public Health, and Editorial Board Member of six international journals.
Has authored about 180 peer reviewed publications in international biomedical journals, including the British Medical Journal and the Lancet.
